We met Tim, Cathy, Isabel, Andrew, and Jake at Burroughs Park on a Sunday afternoon. With a quick cell call a few minutes before our appointment, I made sure they could find us at such a large place. “Pass the soccer fields, wind through the trees, park in the first lot on the right, and look for us out in the middle of the pond.” No, we didn’t row a boat or use floats for the camera gear! Without much rain lately, the pond is really low and left a land bridge to an “island” in the pond. The ground looked like a dry lake bed with deep cracks and lily pads wilting in the sun and wind. The first photo shows a little of what it looked like before the bulldozed dam was created shortly after our session. We got there just in time!

The swing is one of my favorites in the gallery. I asked Tim to think about Cathy like they were newlyweds, but I quickly realized that after she mentioned they are going on 16 years of marriage, he looked at her with even more affection. I wanted to run to Sonny to tell him what happened, but I think he noticed too because he caught this sweet moment.

Sometimes a couple is communicating in a much more subtle way.

The picnic table must be my favorite family portrait because I keep coming back to view it. Each face looks just like I remember this family throughout the day of our session. That’s the way it’s supposed to come together, right?

Andrew caught Sonny taking candid shots of him while walking near the pond and still refused to show us any teeth with this big smile. We tried!

Jake is showing us how to play Angry Birds if you need a slingshot for 83 foot pigs!!
Hey Jake, here’s the link to the playable Angry Birds birthday cake video!
While the family was changing clothes, Isabel hung out with us to take some awesome portraits for her birthday.
“This is what 13 looks like!” If a photo speaks a thousand words, then enough said. (OK, I have to throw in two… She’s beautiful!!)
