[Spring, NW Houston - Senior]: Blake

Blake is a sweetheart. He spent the Friday afternoon of his senior year spring break with his family and us. He’s a good sport, too. How? We asked him to climb a tree for some photos. He took a running start and jumped for the lowest limb which was still higher his head! Besides following our suggestions to get some unique poses, he gave us sincere smiles and serious stares. He’s a natural model.

Maybe I sound like an “old” mommy-type, but I’d say he looks really handsome. Feel free to leave some comments about how great he looks in the highlight photos.;)

[Spring, NW Houston - Family]: Sestak

Nia contacted us after winning our silent auction photo package at the Klein High School APE fundraiser. Great news! The organizers recently sent us a letter saying that the event was a success and all of the seniors will attend the after prom party for free.:)Thank you to everyone that bid on all the auction items!

You probably saw the “Behind the Scenes with the Sestaks” slideshow in the March 31 post. Those were a lot of fun! Make sure you check out that story to hear more about the family. Below are the highlight photos from their original gallery.

[Spring, NW Houston - Family]: Behind the Scenes with The Sestaks

This family was friendly and, at times, silly… which Sonny and I really enjoy! Once Blake, Lauren, and Kyle warmed up to the idea of spending part of their spring break with us, they let their true personalities show, and that is perfect for this session style. We want to see everyone interact the way they would at home or out to a casual dinner.

I felt very nostalgic! As the middle girl of three kids in my family, I could relate to Lauren. Growing up with rowdy brothers was always fun. We were loud, creative, and always laughing. It was totally expected to get wrestled for a favorite toy, sweet-talked into trading unfavored foods, defend each other to bullies (no matter if we thought it was ok to pick on each other:)), someone to tickle (because, like I said, sometimes you just get an urge to mess with them! LOL), and a shoulder to cry on when “Mom and Dad are not fair!”

You can see how much Nia and Richard love spending time with their kids. This gets to be a big deal when your “babies” grow up. We are happy to think about photo sessions as quality time. I tend to start calling the parents Mom and Dad during a session. I can’t image ever getting tired of those titles (although our parents say Grandma and Grandpa top it!!) So Mom and Dad: Thanks for willing to act silly to get the session rolling and being those “not fair” parents who drag their kids to family photo sessions on a Friday night… because we know how much they will treasure that time together when they have kids of their own some day!
